This Maibock is a strong pale Lager style popular in Bavaria. The malt is mostly German Pilsner, with some Belgian, American and Canadian malts to round out the taste. The German and Czech noble hops give a well-balanced finish.

On tap at Yaletown, pours a clear copper golden with a small off-white head. Aroma reveals herbal notes, toasted nuts and biscuity malt. Flavour is robust, with sweet bready malt, light herbal notes and toasted nuts. Sweet and malty without anywhere close to cloying. Robust and with lots of character. Really good.

Hazy golden color. Robust example for the style, it has a very good malt flavor, malt depth, some hay and light biscuits, the moderate sweetness is also pleasing, and it's balanced by a decent bitterness level; delicate Lager esters complement this beer; maybe a bit pithy in the final, but can't complain when they brew a Heller Bock with enough character.
