Interesting 0,75 l bottle bought at Brolters, Bremen. Unclear red orange in the glass, one finger foamy white head. Intensive coffie on the nose, fruity hop bitterness in the second row. Taste starts with coffie bitterness, dominating coffie in the middle part, citrus fruit in the background, maybe also some malty hints. Too much coffie in my opinion. Not my cup of tea.

750ml bottle [#488]. Clear, dark amber colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, sulphureous head. Citrusy fruity, hoppy aroma, notes of grapefruit, orange, partly displaced by coffee notes, cold coffee, coffee powder. Taste is citrusy, resinous and herbal bitter hoppy, vast coffee interference; in its best moments coffee and hop bitterness is integrated and finds some moderately sweet caramel malty support - in other moments slightly unconnected and inharmonious. Though one would think the coffee addition to be more adequate with dark beers, we have an overall working combination in this case (cf. e.g. Sleep Over Coffee IIPA, Koppi Tomahawk x Guji Natural Coffee IPA).

Draft sample @ Berlin Braufest 2015. Orangée, col fin blanc-cassé. Arôme de café assez prenant offrant un rétro légèrement épicé du café. Rétro fruité houblonné qui ajoutant des notes d’agrumes plaisantes. Palais offre un agréable profil de café, fini sec et grillé, pointe d’amertume houblonnée qcq notes d’épices venant du café. Malt caramel qui perce sur la fin, mais le café reste cependant très agréable avec un café juste à sa place sans être ni surfait ni trop faiblard.

Braukunst Live München 2015. Pours a light amber color. Coffee aroma of spruce, hay, pale malts and herbal hops. Taste is bitter.

Trübe dunkelgoldene Farbe, ordentliche weiße Schaumkrone. Geruch nach Kaffee, bitter hopfig. Geschmack sehr bitterer Kaffee, hopfig.

Kaum hopfiger Antrunk, die Kaffeenoten sind dafür um so deutlicher. Im Mittelteil kommen die deutlicher hervor, wenig bitter, leicht fruchtig. Schwierige Kombination. 11/8/9/8//9
