We brought Scottish peat moss in and used (ruined?) our friend’s smoker peating our own malt. A subtle peat character works well in this monster of a scotch-style ale. Kilt Recommended.

Shared 12 oz. can. Pours hazy copper with a light beige head. Aroma of caramel, light smoke, brown sugar. Taste is malt, dark fruits notes, peat, mild smoke, wood. Cloying finish.

On tap at 4th Tap, pours a hazy amber orange with a small beige head. Aroma brings out caramel, dark fruits and cloying brown sugar. Flavour is abrasive, with cloyingly sweet candied sugar, caramel and red fruits. Boozy and sweet, and almost cough syrupy. Not a good example of the style.
