Bottled, from Systembolaget. Black rich, firm head. Mild smokey nose. Dry with fairly light body and clean, crisp mouthfeel. Somewhat diluted smoky flavour with notes of licorice and ice-cold lamp post. Low bitterness. A bit harsh and metallic.

Bottle from Systembolaget. Dark brown with a medium tan head. Aroma and taste of dark chocolate, roasted malt, some licorice and smoke. Also light notes of ham. On the sweet side with a dry finish. A descent one, not as smoky as expected.

Flaska från SB, ordinarie sortimentet dec-14. Mörkbrun vätska med lågt snabbt försvinnande skum. Lätt, lite kärv relativt torr, trots en hel del sötma, med lätt rökig smak. Saltlakrits, mörk choklad, rostad malt, aningen rök och tjära. Trevlig.

Bottle. A dark brown beer topped by a dense, finger-thick beige head of moderate size. The aroma is lightly roasted and smoked, with chocolate and some dried figs. Caramel hints in the flavor, roasted and smoked, some ham notes. Coffee hints. Medium body, soft carbonation. Lasting roasted and smoked finish with coffee notes. A bit gentle this one, but sure a fine brew anyway. 141231

Pours dark brown with a tan head. Aroma has notes of roasted malt, chocolate, caramel and smoke. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter with a long chocolate and smoked finish. Body is medium, texture is thin to oily, carbonation is soft.

330ml Bottle - Black in colour. Smoked malt, salmiakki and a hint of coffee in the aroma. Liquorice, soapy hops, coffee and smoked malt in the taste. The smokiness is more evident in the aroma than the taste. The use of (and the quantity) Columbus and Simcoe give it some qualities that are reminiscent of a black IPA, although it’s still very much a porter.
