Pour is a murky reddish brown with a huge tan head. Aroma is some toffee malt and a big whiff of alcohol. Flavor is some toffee malt and there is the alcohol again. It does not hide the alcohol well. Mouthfeel is a bit thin and the alcohol is off putting.

On tap at St. Nicholas, pours a clear orange amber with a small beige head. Aroma brings out caramel bready malt and toffee. Flavour is very malty, with bready malt, toasted caramel and toffee. Viscous mouthfeel, with fairly low sweetness for the style. Very well-made.

Draft at the source. From notes. Very standard scotch ale. Malt dominated but the abv is totally hidden.
