33 cl. swing-top bottle shared @ home with t0rin0 and womencantsail. Dark brown amber with a big tanned head. Nose is quite interesting, herbal, fruity, caramel, burned sugar, dark fruits and indeed applesauce as mentioned. Taste is intriguing bitter copper with some lightly fermenting dark applesauce, bitter herbal, spice, caramel, dark sugar, light booze in the back. Big higher carb. Interesting, different, good. Maybe bit too much too easily drink but an interesting Belgian.

330ml bottle. Clear reddish amber colour with average to huge macropore to frothy off-white head. Caramel malty aroma with hints of dark berries. Slightly sweet fruity taste has notes of dark berries, caramel malt, cautious dry to bitter hop overtones, sweetness is well balanced by a tart fruity touch.

330ml bottle. Pours a very dark brown with medium head. Aromas of caramel, carroway, and malts. Flavors of candy sugar, figs, light tobacco, and roasted malts. Somewhat sweet but a good beer.

Sample at Eurostash III tasting on 01/12/2012: Bottle from Belgium Beers in Antwerpen. The beer is a dark reddish brown color with a medium light tan head that recedes steadily. Rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of dark cherries, caramel and cloves. Medium and slightly chewy body with a ripe fruity character and flavors of sweet spices, caramel and Belgian yeast. The finish is sugary sweet with a fruity aftertaste. Pretty good brew.

Bottle. Reddish brown with a beige head. Aroma of prunes, raisins, figs, lots of dough, fruit-cake spices. Sweet with lots of dried fruits, a bit of chocolate, unintegrated alcohol, spices. A little port and lemon sourness. Bitter herbs at the end. Lacks gestalt.

A bottle from Utobeer, Southborough market. En exellent belgian ale, brown redish colour, big head, lots of sweet fruits, hops and yeast to balance. Strong and still very drinkable. Good looking bottle too.

33 cl bottle @ Gastropub Tuulensuu, BBE 18.03.13
Sweet and perfume-like aroma, reminds me of an aged belgian ale. It has toffee, caramel, lots of candi sugar, spices and sweetish malt. Flavour has candi sugar, spices and some caramel. Some roastiness too. Alcohol-filled finish. Good belgian ale, but the alcohol disturbs a bit here.

Dark brown color, little red glow coming through. Full flavor, full body, nice bitterness, long aftertaste. Better than expected.

Nice brown colour. When you hold it in front of a good light source, there will be a nice red-ish colour shining through. Love that. Smells a bit malty. Nice taste. Quite heavy beer, but the mouthfeel is good.
