A very special beer indeed, brewed for our first anniversary this Black IPA has been dry hopped with a large amount of some of our favourite hops (Chinook, Cascade, Mosaic, Columbus, Summit, Herkules) followed by adding a generous amount of Earl Grey leaf to the fermentation tank to infuse. Grapefruit, zesty and forest fruit aromas with a light bitter dark malt & subtle bergamot aftertaste. The blend provides the beer with a well balanced complex aroma and taste.

Tap at Stoneworks, Peterborough. Poured a murky medium brown with a thin broken white head. The aroma is roasty malt, grassy hop. The flavour is moderate bitter with a woody nettle hop bitter, light pepper spice palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation. A nicely balanced beer.

Keg @ Tap east, London. Dark brown, almost black body with a creamy beige head. Nice aroma of mild roasted dark malt, toast, pine, grapefruit and earthy tea. Flavor is medium sweet dark malt, toast, some chocolate, citric hops, grapefruit, quite much pine, nice bitterness and some zest bitterness. Fine balanced body and long lasting good aftertaste. Nice one, canโ€™t really say I recognize so much of the tea flavor, but it might influence the bitterness as itโ€™s a bit unusually. Nice and interesting, quite smooth in a way as well.

Bottle from Sourced Market St Pancras and drunk at home. Black dark brown cola colour beer with thick thick lasting tan head. Hoppy roast malt aroma. Some chocolate in the mouth but also a bit of almost milky choc as well. Hop bitterness and roasted malt finish. Never my favourite style and there is a weird malt thing going on but itโ€™s ok I guess.
