It’s called Snowmelter. But might as well be called a Imperial Milk Chocolate Oatmeal Coffee Stout. This beer is a cousy beverage to enjoy alone, maybe with a bit of dark chocolate on the side. Serve chilled in a wine glass or a brandy glass. A beer to enjoy in the darkness of winter.

330ml bottle from Vinmonopolet Tromsdalen. Motor oily pour revealing a deep ruby tint to a black body. Stable espresso head, lacing rings down the glass. Coffee grounds on the nose, ashy, and mid-sweet, Roasted sweet chocolate flavours together with coffee beans, dark fruits underneath. Prolonged ending. Velvety mouth filling. Just lovely. The name of the beer fits the season in Tromsø right now (26.04.2015).

Bottle 33 cl. Black with a minimal lightbrown head. Chocolate and coffee aroma. Nice sweet taste, lift bitter with a warm chocolate end, the alc. Is well hidden.

Bottle. Pours a black color with a small tan head. Has a roasted malty coffee and chocolate aroma. Roasted malty chocolate and coffee flavor. Has a roasted malty coffee and chocolate finish.

Complete black liquid with a big beige head. Nice lacing down the glass. Rich coffee in the aroma. Also a bit herbal and chocolate. Medium plus body. Quite balanced sweetness versus bitterness. Soft carbonation. Lots of character in the flavor. Althoug I did not fancy it that much. Felt like when the coffee is to strong. Kind of unbalanced. Also some chocolate and mild spiced. Very well hidden alcohol. Next bottle will be opened winter 2025.

Bottle. It looks more or less black in the glass, with a light tan finger -thick head. There’s quite a lot of coffee on the nose, a good dash of grit, some roasted malts and dark chocolate. Coffee dominates the flavor too, the grit more present with a little bit less dark chocolate. Roasted malts, some herbal hints and bitterness. It’s full to medium bodied and soft on the palate. Lasting rather herbal finish, still with the coffee dominating. Perhaps a bit one dimensional, but very nice and tasteful. 150207

33 cL bottle. Pours dark brown to black with a small tan head. Aroma is coffee and herbal hoppy. Roasted, dry and coffee flavoured. Bitter and dark chocolate dense malty finish. Lasting coffee note.

Bottle. Opaque black liquid with medium tan head. Aroma of cold brewed coffee, light ash, licorice, dried fruit and bitter chocolate. Taste is light to medium sweet and light bitter with notes of coffee, licorice, light ash and dried fruit. Full bodied with medium carbonation. Pretty nice.

Flaska från SB. Smak och doft av mörk choklad, nymalt kaffe, kakao, havre, malt. Fina smaker, bra balans. Frisk och fruktig med god beska. Godare ju ljumnare den blir.
