This unique stout combines organic roasted malts and Milwaukee’s renowned organic Fuel Café coffee. Pours a deep, dark brown with a creamy tan head. Coffee aromas dominate the nose with a background of roasted malt. The fine balance of mild organic hops, gentle coffee brightness and full mouthfeel from roasted malted barley make this an unforgettable brew.

12oz bottle pours near black with mocha head. The aroma is coffee beans, roasted malts and mild notes of burnt malts and oxidation. The taste is very much the same as the aroma with highly roasted malts mingling with coffee and with a faint note of oxidation. The coffee fades some to midway allowing more roasty malts to shine through. Coffee and burnt malts linger into the after taste. The flavors here don’t seem to play well together. It didn’t really work for me.

Bottle from a sampler from WFM Charlottesville. Pours deep black with a small head. Aroma is pure coffee, not much else. Taste is exactly the same as the aroma. Thin body and a little watery.

Bottle. Blackish beer with a brown head. Coffee, roast aroma. Coffee, roasty flavor with a bit of hop bitterness. Coffee and roast lingers. Medium body. Straight forward and to the point.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured thick and black with a small dark head. The aroma was bitter and dry roasty malts. The flavor was bitter, dry, roasty and had a subtle coffee flavor. The finish was long, dry and bitter. This is in no way a sweet stout.

Bottle. Aroma of coffee, almost espresso. Opaque brown/black color with a beige/tan ringed head (pretty flat). Near full bodied with mild carbonation. Flavor is primarily coffee with some chocolate notes and underlying toasted malt. Finish is fairly dry, with chocolate and lots of coffee. Reasonable level of bitter.

12 oz bottle from Lakefront Sampler from Bottle Barn; Nose of coffee and bittersweet chocolate, not overpowering but appealing; Very dark hazy brown with a big cinnamon colored head; flavor is definately coffee, with chocolate and very light hop bitterness and a bit of sweetness. Body a little thin, but its not an impy! Better than the ratings say!

Bottle purchased at Wine Warehouse, C-ville. Pours nearly black with no head. Licorice in the nose... that’s about all. Bubbly mouth, with flavors of hops, with some coffee, but not good coffee. Eh, not impressed =(

Pitch black but not really too viscous. Looks like used Harley shovelhead oil. Aroma is mild coffee with a tad of roastiness. No head. Not as strong as many stouts and is rather mild. This brew is easy for the taste buds of a lager lover to enjoy. For some reason I was expecting an imp stout and now I see why it is so frienly, its a sweet stout. Comes across more like a dark american lager that a stout. Very enjoyable coffe flavors without the intense bitterness. Just enough coffee to make it interesting. Very little carbonation but certainly more than a dry stout. Very acceptable brew, I liked it. Leaves no offensive bitter aftertaste.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown with a bit of a tan head. Aromas are dark malt and coffee. Has the flavor of overly sugared coffee... way to sweet for my palate. yuck!!!

Pretty nice, alot of coffee, dry chocolate and roast, with a medium thick mouthfeel. Well integrated flavors. Semi-dry finish. Very dark brown, large creamy head. For once a coffee beer that doesn’t come across thin or watery, or overly dominated by coffee flavors. The chocolate notes give it a mocha type character, and could even be brought out more.
