My Eisbock-Week, Day 3. 0,33 l bottle from Slijterij d'r bij, Veendam. Nearly black in the glass, small short living head. Aroma? Burnt plastic, malt, boozy. Taste starts with malt, also the infused whisky, some vanilla in the background. Alcoholic. Really an Eisbock?

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a dark brown with an orange hue and a small, roughish, beige head. Nose is pure ethanol atop a base of malasses and dark, dried fruits. Rich, sweet body, unclean and almost chemical, oddly spicy, boozy finish. When you concentrate a beer via freeze distilling, you also concentrate the flaws. This wasn't all that pleasant - and all that effort.... 190123
