Clear gold pour with a white head. Sweet malt aroma that carries both honey and some spice. The flavor is lightly sweet and very clean, with enough hops to keep it crisp. Easy drinking, effervescent.

Light hay nose. Clear yellow, no head. Light, little flavor. Builds to a modest surge of hay. Weak with little kolsch character.

Crystal clear golden coloured body with a very thin off-white head. Aroma of pungent skunkiness, malt, cardboard, water, yeast and a touch of fake sugars. Light-bodied; Rich sweetness and some cardboardie malt with a little skunkiness and some subdued dry flavours. Aftetaste is a bit more bitter from the malt, shows some light hoppiness and finishes with some off flavours that aren’t too pleasant. Overall, not such a great beer with more flavours in the ’off’ category than in the ’in’ category. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle from the Opera House Gourmet in Manassas, Virginia on 12-March-2011 (best by 01/2011) sampled at home in Washington on 04-April-2011.

Served on draft at the brewery. Pours a straw color with a thin head, but good retention and decent lacing. Light aroma with notes of grass, grain and hops. Taste is very grainy and subtly bitter w/ noble hop notes. Slightly thin body but very pleasant and still highly drinkable. It’s my Blue Mountain standby.
