Citra, Bravo and Centennial hops shine in this classic IPA. Biscuity malts balance hoppy notes of orange grapefruit and pine with a nice dose of bitterness to finish.

Bottle. Light golden body. Frothy white head. Aroma of pine, grapefruit, toasted grain, resin. The flavor is lightly to moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. It finishes lightly sweet and moderately bitter. Medium body, watery/velvety texture, lively carbonation. Lingering bitterness. Taste of pine and resin, but not a resin bomb. Grapefruit peel bitterness.

Bottle from Bridgend Service Station. Hazy golden body with a medium white head. Steady carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of Jelly Babies, orange, hay and caramel. Flavour of grapefruit, watermelon and hop spice. Medium body with an oily mouthfeel. Light fizz. It’s probably past its best (bottled 06.01.2016, nine months ago) but I enjoyed this.

Cask at GBBF 2016. It pours lightly hazy bright golden - amber with a small bubbly white head. The aroma is soft, sweet, juicy, apricot, peach, nectarine, mango sorbet and light honey. The taste is rich bitter - sweet, oily, pine needles, resinous, grass, mild astringency, stone fruits, apricot, grapefruit and resin with a dry finish. Medium body, fine carbonation and oily mouth-feel. Tastes brighter and fresher than most the is Cask. Good.

Bottle pour into shaker pint glass from Julio’s Liquors. Aroma is strong tropical fruit, citrus, pine over bready malt backbone. Appearance is hazy light brown with orange and yellow tinges. 1/2 finger-width fizzy white head with decent retention, nice leggy lacing and sparkle. Taste is more bitter than sweet but balanced, pine, resin and citrus dominate. Palate is medium bodied with thick texture and average to lively carbonation (just right). Finish is crisply bitter, aridly dry. Lips felt a little numb. Overall, lots going on and most of it really good.
