Named after the ethereal song by the one and only Deftones, Phantom Bride IPA is a blend of Amarillo, Citra, Simcoe and Mosaic hops delicately balanced for the perfectly drinkable mix of citrus and hoppy goodness. A truly original Deftones/ Belching Beaver collaboration envisioned by Chino Moreno and skillfully crafted by Thomas Peters. Sit back, put on your headphones and drink away.

Can to pint glass. Pours a very slightly hazed light gold with white head that lingers as a bundle around the collar and a creamy cap over the top. Aroma is stone fruit and a bit of forest, slight citrus. Flavor is grain and moderate high dank. A bit high on the malt for an IPA, and not terribly hazy...but a nice beer.

Of course i listened to the song before rating the beer. Kind of okay for that kind of music, must admit i am more a metal guy and less a prog rock guy, but it was okay, bit boring. can, 47.3cl (1 pint) slightly hazy yellow, smooth offwhite head. bittersweet flowery stong ipa aroma, seems like it is more malty and alc. strong than heaviliy hopped. aroma is like a double-ipa that should have been hopped a bit more agressively or perhaps the selection of hops were a bit off. Flavor is really good though, certanly lots of hoppy flavors, and the malts and alc. matches well with the agressive hop flavors. also quite well composed, the beer has a flavor, not a lot of different kinds of flavors put togeter. If i try i get malts, pine, grapefruit, flower nectar, perhaps even honey. A very good american style IPA , however with a subdued aroma, but the flavor is super potent and well balanced.

The pint can was purchased at the local HEB with the better singles selection, $1.99. Interesting artwork. I do like Mosaic hops but that seems to rarely be the focus of an IPA anymore. Lift into a shaker glass from a Houston brewery and I determine a orange going to gold liquid with a steadfast top of fully white foam. I smell citrus, juice and a bit of hops. And the taste, all right, not life changing. Orange rind, pine, grass, a touch of turpentine and crackers. An okay brew.
