In the modern world of brewing there’s a lot of talk about the beers predating the American prohibition era. A time before the point when American lagers were defined by the word “light”. When beers were malty, and full bodied, with a refreshing bitterness. That’s the kind of beer we’ve brewed, but to modest 3,5% ABV (the highest allowed strength of the Swedish “peoples beer” or “folköl”). And we’ve added a modern hop character to it., to get that hoppy nose…
That’s what we call a Modern Pre-Prohibition Style Folköl
Oh… You wonder why it’s called The Leaky Bucket? Well… anyone who has had a couple of folköls knows…

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a clear golden with a tiny, white head. Flowery, almost perfumy hop aroma. Light body, quite fruity with a cute lil’ hop finish. Very drinkable. 071215

*Bottle from ICA Kvantum in Sickla. Nice fresh malty beginning. Not too weak. Citrus hints with fresh hops there. Refreshing with hints of sweetness, round and smooth with hints of malts in the aftertaste. Quite nice for the 3.5%.

(Bottle) Golden colour with frothy, white head. Malty nose with notes of bread, peaches, grass, hay and a touch of butterscotch. Malty taste with bread, ripe fruit, grass, hay and distant hints of floral hops. Light body, with just a touch of sweetness. Not too bad, drinkable but fairly uninteresting. Decent.
