Crisp & lively, the hazy smoothness of this unfiltered White Ale is roused by the crackling of spring spices. From a hint of sweetness from orange peel & plum to the peppery bite of fresh ground coriander, the subtle blend of spices creates just the right refreshing kick to signal that spring is on its way. Cheers!

Tap @Bishops Arms, Vasagatan, Sthlm
Hazy orange color, small white head. Aroma has toffee, banana and light spices. Medium-bodied. Light spicey tartness, toffee, banana in the flavor. Some coriander is evident. Not my cup of coffee.

12oz Bottle, part of a mixed Samuel Adams pack bought in my honour "because I like different beers". Consumed in a garden in Newport Beach on 14th March 2014: only warm enough outside for visiting Brits like me, the locals watched us out of the windows! Anyway back to the first beer of the day: I don’t really like Witbier unless it’s a really hot day and then I’d chose something else if given a choice. To be fair this was OK, usual hazy look with no head to talk about: citrus nose with hints of bits and bobs to give it a slight spice and peppery twinge. Typical for the style in the aroma stakes, same could be said for the taste, citrus lead and finish with hints of some semi-sweetness in the middle of each sip. Prefer the Belgian versions I’ve had though. Scored with style in mind, not my preferences. Would have been nice to have had a Samuel Adams White Ale side by side with this,as I scored that a lot higher.

Location: 12 oz bottle from Buy Rite, 4/19/14
Aroma: Wheat, spice/coriander, orange zest
Appearance: Hazy orange pour, white head, fizzy, scattered lace
Flavor: Taste is wheat and spice, light fruit/orange zest, clean, mid-bitter finish
Palate: Body is medium, with a lively carbonation, and a mid-dry finish
Overall Impression: This is a pretty solid example of the style. The nose is only okay, but the flavor is slightly better. Maybe a little too fizzy. Not bad overall though, drinkable.

12oz bottle, do you care where I got it? Pours a hazy dark gold with some thin, white head. Nose has a lot of esters, dried orange peel, clove, banana, bubblegum, straw, artificial candy, orange soda, some key lime pie. Flavor is like someone took a cream soda and and orange soda and mixed them 50-50, orange peel, faux vanilla, some fake candy, a little toothpaste. Creamy finish. No thanks.

tap - Light, hazy pour... smells of lemon, grapefruit, and spice. It has a sweet, citrusy flavor with very mild hops and some spice. It’s medium bodied and quite good.

Opaque orange color. Very light coriander and orange flavor and aroma. Fairly sweet. Lacking the full flavor and aroma of the better examples.
