Bottle pour at The Barrel Project, pours a deep dark mahogany with a tiny head. Aroma has plenty of leather, oak, wild yeast, and a touch of musty dark fruit skins. Flavour is oaky and leathery, with plenty of bugs, moderate acidity, some earthiness, and a hint of fruit skins. A bit flat — maybe this bottle has been opened too long, as the carb seems dulled. Good but perhaps not in optimal shape, or else just under-carbed.

Keg at the Barrel Project, 09/06/22. Light black with a khaki head that clears to a swirl. Nose is dry rot, funk, light acidic nostril twinge, barnyard esters, stewed dark fruits. Taste comprises dark fruit balsams, stewed fruits, herb, red berry stones, funk, acidic rise. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with an acidic bite. Tidy enough dark sour.
