Bottle share at Leightonβs Stratoflat. Opaque black - brown beer, good tan head. Very airy palate, surprisingly low density. Rich dark malts but no roasty bitterness. Some spice, probably alcohol derived. Smooth dark malt cream. Touch of dark chocolate. Nice dark fruits develop before a frothy finish. Nicely done.

Bottle shared in London - many thanks to Kenny. Pours oily black with a creamy brown head. The nose holds so e tangy burnt wood, dark chocolate, scorched earth. Medium sweet flavor with ashy roast, bitter cocoa, dried dark fruits, leather. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Warming finish with more burnt wood, baking cocoa, coffee. Strong stuff. A little heavy handed.

Bottle thanks to Kenny. It pours jet black with a medium tan head. The nose is rich roast, dark chocolate, creamy, light vanilla and gateaux. The taste is rich, slick, bitter, earthy, rich roast, cocoa, gateaux, mild acidity and pepper with a dry, earthy finish. Full body, average carbonation and foamy mouth-feel. Hefty, but not bad.

Draft. A pitch black beer with a lazing dark brown head. The aroma has notes of chocolate, roasted malt, hops, and alcohol, wow. The flavor is sweet with notes of hops, citrus fruits, roasted malt, alcohol, and lots of cocoa, leading to a bitter roasted finish.
