From tap at Craft & Draft, cheers to Ilse. Very thick, rocky, egg-white, stable head, misty golden blonde colour with peachy hue. Aroma of soggy white bread, moist grains, field flowers, baker’s yeast, dry lemon zest, green banana, raw pineapple, vague cooked cabbage. Soft taste, restrained yeasty fruity hints, some green banana and unripe gooseberry, medium carbo, smooth body, bit bready, yeasty ending with a soft grassy hop touch. Decent lager, but not of the same class of refinement as some of the original German Kellerbiers.

Tap@ Kitty’s. Poured unclear dark amber color with a thick off white head. Nice bready, floury , dusty aroma. Flavor has red berries, bread, hops, sweetness. Full bodied, thick, bit heavy to drink. Aroma was nice, but stuffy flavor.

(Keg at William K. Kurvi, 20150627) The beer poured deep amber and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had grass grain and malts. Palate was medium bodied with rather high carbonation.Flavours were grass, malts, sweetness, molasses and bitterness. Aftertaste was malty and bitter. A nice German style brew that killed the sweetness with clean bitterness.
