A Norman-style cidre brut, aged in French oak barrels. Reminiscent of the old days in France, before the great wars, when wine makers of the south shared their used barrels with their northern cousins, the resulting ciders were a little bit rough, unfiltered with a balance of flavors from the fruit, the farm and the barrel. Virtue has recreated this traditional cider by sourcing tart fruit, patiently aging for months in wine barrels, and serving as is, without fine filtration. Lapinette is a window into our past, a very tasty time indeed.

Draught @ Öl & Bröd. Lovely barnyard aroma! Crisp and fresh taste with notes of white wine and also some earthiness in the aftertaste.

Tap at Capitol Beer and Taproom in Sacramento, CA. Pours pale yellow. Aroma is cider with an oak note? med minus body. Flavor is dry/tart and a little oaky. Finishes dry, tart, apple, astringent, oak. Very nice.

Sampled at the 2013 Chicago Cider Summit. Pours a clear peach like color with no head whatsoever. Aroma has a farmhouse note with a bit of a wine note and extremely dry wine. Flavor has extremely dry apple but is over all a bit thin.

What a disappointment after loving the RedStreak. Half pint on tap at the Hop Leaf. Looks bland in color, murky puddle water. Almost lifeless, not sure if this was at all carbonated, Norman Style my ass. I think they used some weird yeast on this, tons of off flavors, strong fecal on the nose for me. Flat dead palate did not help. Some mildly tart fruit underneath the mess.
