Considered uncommon in the world of beers today, Chuckanut is excited to rediscover this old style, sessionable ale. Using Best Malts Red X, Wyermann’s Carared & Melanoidan malts we accentuate the reddish hues in this beer. Its medium body is highlighted by toasted malt flavors balanced with the hops, making Chuckanut Scarlet Ale (formerly known as “Ruby Ale”) a satisfying any-time-of-day tipple.

Draft pour pint enjoyed at Route 2, Monroe. Clean copper red appearance, active carb, cream off white foam. Nice bready malt aroma that translates right into the flavor. Sharp taste up front, with a smooth, malty finish. Cool constant, flavorful red, while maintaining a more crisp overall refreshment. Solid red that will drink quick. Very nice brew.

On tap at Chuckanut - South Nut, pours a clear dark copper with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of bready malt, a little caramel, and a hint of hoppy resins. Flavour is balanced well between dry, woody, resinous hops, and bready malt. Dry toasted caramel and woody finish. Good stuff.
