bottle - Pours very dark brown with a one finger head. The aroma has plenty of chocolate and dark roast malt. Similar flavors are abundant and very tasty. Medium with some light hops in the finish, this stout is very good.

12 fl oz bottle. Pours hazy and deep brown with a slight spiced notr. Clear roasted note and a slight chocolate flavour. Dry malty finish. Lacks a lot of body imho.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Courtesy of yespr. Slightly hazy chestnut brown with a handsome, beige head that leaves some lacework. There’s a weak aroma of roasted malt. Medium body with lightly roasted malt notes and a dry, slightly bitter finish. A VERY thin finish. Disappointing. 150807

Dark brown color with red hue. Roasted malt and dark caramel, with a hint of coffee, capuccino and hop. Don’t seek anything else here.

Brown 12 oz bottle for $1.50 at Vintage Estates in Boardman, thanks Nuts. When you pour it, it has a really dark opaque color that hides all those swirling sediments that have been resting on the bottom of the bottle. Bready uncooked yeasty dough smell, pretty good aroma. Bitter dark tasting alky laced with bitter very dark chocolate and or black coffee. Also includes some burned wood that has been extinguished with water. Good welcomed carbonation. Not bad and a good representative for a dark brew. Overall pretty coarse and oppresive for a sweet stout. Probably should be in the stout or imp stout category. Nothing like Mackeson, Sammy Smith or Schell Snowstorm, they are all much better than this.

Poured black with brown head. Aroma filled with roasted malts, smoke and chhocolate. Flavor is malty sweet with notes of chocolate and caramel. Underneath are notes of peat and smoke. The finish is bitter. Smooth on the palate with slight carbnation. Medium body.

Rerate from bottle (8-2-2009). Aromas seem far less than before... not much going on other than some wet wood and roasted malt. Flavor seems to have taken a dive, too. There is a bit of roasted malt... some chocolate and wood, but smoke and peat seem to not be here with this bottle. (Original rating 8 4 8 4 15)
Wonderful aroma over a dark, dark brown body. Smoke, peat and dark chocolate. Head is tan and not worth much. Looks good and goes away quickly, leaving little behind in terms of lacing. Flavor is a quick burst of roasted malt that gives way to chocolatey undertones and then wood/peat/charcoal (???) flavor that is different and a nice way to finish. I was pleasantly surprised by this one.

A pitch black beer with a thin brown head. The aroma is sweet roasted combined with notes of chocolate. The flavor is sweet with notes of coffee, and chocolate, as well as light wood notes. The finish is like a good bitter dark dessert chocolate.
