PLÄKKI ON UUSI MUSTA.

Pläkki on elegantti fuusio tummia sävyjä ja uuden mailman humaloiden aromikkuutta. Pehmeän paahteinen ja avokätisesti humaloitu olut, jossa juotavuus kohdallaan. Yksinkertaista, muttei yksitoikkoista.

Nautiskeluun, Rahmanovilla tai ilman.

Smell of licorice, roasted malt. Black colour, very high mid-brown head. Aroma of hops, roasted malt, ash, finishes with licorice. Very nice balance between porter and IPA. Bitter, with a faint sweetness.

(Bottle, 0.33 l - batch #26 - BB 12.7.2014, from Alko, 20140214) The beer poured black. Its head was quite large and lightly brown. Aroma had coffee, chocolate and hops. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were sweetness, fruitiness, burnt malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet, burnt and bitter. I am not a fan of Black IPAs. Some of the beers put into that category are nice but this one is just simply confusing. I just find the sweet and burnt flavours and the combination isn’t a pleasant one.

A colaback beer with a quite big and lihgt brown head. The nose is lemony and slightly liqurice, some coffee, hint of unpure vegetables. Taste of strongly roasted coffee and lots of grapefruity bitterness. The end is long and dry. Medium bodied, nice carbonation, quite tense to drink. A harsh beer with the strong bitterness but otherwise, too one-dimensional.

33,3 cl bottle @ home. Batch #26: BBE 12.07.2014
Aroma is slightly messy with grapefruit, some ashy tones and roastiness. Flavour has grapefruit, ashy tones, some coffee and tobacco. Palate is a bit flat – needs more CO2. Good.

Another bottle, same batch: now there’s too much CO2. Makes this ashy.

Bottle 0.33l from local Alko. Enjoyed at home. Best Before 12.7.2014. Batch #26. Colour is black with slightly brownish white head. Aromas and flavours: Fruits, citrus, hints of chocolate, hints of coffee, hops and roasted malts. Very nice citrusy piquancy, good drinkability and appropriate hoppiness. Well done Hiisi.

330ml bottle from Alko

BBE 12.07.14 batch 26 - Pours pitch black with a thick light brown head. Aroma of roasted malts, toasty notes, grassy hops, cocoa, hints of chocolate and coffee. Taste is smooth, hoppy and slightly roasty with some hints of dark chocolate, cocoa and toastiness. Finish is smooth, lingering bitter and grassy with citrusy notes, hints of roastiness and coffee. Tasty and hoppy black IPA with a nice long lasting bitterness. Nice one.
