Old No.7 Jack Daniel’s barrels provide notes of sweet vanilla, caramel and oak. The Bourbon Barrel Aged Stout is full-bodied and silky smooth. Matured in our cellar it now carries well balanced flavours of roasted barley, bourbon, chocolate and hints of spice.

Bottle from the brewery, 1 year old
Dark brown colour. Aroma of dark bread. Not too weak, semi-dry, mild malt base, moderate bourbon character.
Nothing special, and not worth the $10+ price, but drinkable.

500ml @ Phill's. Appearance: dark brown with a beige head. Aroma: some a bit harsh barrel, roasted malt, some chocolate as well. Taste: along the same lines, somewhat roasty, very light barrel. Overall: not bad.

500mL bottle, pours black with a small beige head. Aroma brings out lots of cheap JD bourbon and a touch of roast. Flavour is simple, with cheap JD bourbon, light toasted malt, and dry bready notes. Simple and lacking depth. Not convincing.

Dark brown, not much head. There's a bit of tartness, some chocolate notes, and a touch of residual sweetness. The barrel notes aren't bad, but the overall beer doesn't bring any stellar elements.
