This beer is a throwback to the first generation of craft IPAs that helped start the modern craft beer movement over a decade ago. Loaded with plenty of piney Cascade hops that no throwback IPA would be complete without, this beer also features the citrusy Sasquatch hop, a descendant of a wild hop found in Pemberton BC, and Canada's only homegrown hop variety. In a nod to modern tastes, this beer doesn't go quite as extreme on the bitterness scale as many IPAs did a decade ago, but still packs a punch.

Poured from 473mL can. Slightly hazy bronze with off white head. Muted pine and resin with a bit of vegetal and bread malt. Underwhelming.

473mL can, pours a clear copper / bronze with a large white head. Aroma brings out gentle earthy hopping, a little pine, and bready malt. Flavour is fairly malty, with bready caramel, a strange vegetal hopping, some earthiness, some resins, and a hint of pine. On the sweeter, maltier side, but with that odd vegetal hoppiness. Not hugely sold on the hop expression here. OK.

Can from The Gull, North Vancouver
Clean light amber colour. Mild aroma of husks. Lean mouthfeel, off-dry, with very modest malt presence, a touch of husks, and mild herbaceous hop; balanced bitterness.
Boring; clean.
