Deeper black, darker chocolate and fuller roast flavors than in this roaring imperial stout's little sibling. Watch the snow fall outside, it's already winter.

Taster shared with Matt. Appearance: very dark brown with a beige head. Aroma: roasted malts, inky, a bit of fruitiness. Taste: along the same lines, moderately sweet, quite roasty, dry aftertaste, some ashes. Overall: goos RIS.

On tap at Chuck's Hop Shop - Greenwood, pours black with a small light brown head. Aroma brings out deep dry cocoa, robust roasted malt, and a decent hop character. Flavour is robust, with deep roasted malt, ample piney hopping, and dark dry cocoa. Wonderfully robust yet balanced and drinkable on the palate, with relatively low residual sweetness. Excellent.
