IVY BELLS is a custom blend of both traditional Barrel-aged and Solera-fermented spontaneous ales. Made by refermenting pineapple, apricot, pink guava, blood orange, raspberry, passion fruit, cherry and grape in a golden-blonde base beer blend. At BLACK PROJECT, blending beers is what we do, but this release is a chance to blend with fruit directly. The goal is not necessarily to be able to taste each of the fruit flavors individually, but to have the right amounts of each to create the end product that we feel is the most delicious.

Very cloudy pinkish orange beer, practically no head. Aroma: funky, very yeasty, smells like a Berliner Weisse, but a bad one. Pretty unpleasant, smells like puke with fruit, a bit like the Kindl one, which is not a compliment... Also some tannins. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: acidic start, rather clean acidity, bitter touch, some tannins, funky. Aftertaste: nice fruity notes, but also some puke and vinegar.

Bottle at BXL festival. Murky dark pink with almost no head. Lots of nice red berries, funk, sharp tart grapefruit juice, strawberries, light mineral, earthy funk, peach, wheat. But over medium sour and soft sweet and bitter. Medium bodied.
