On tap at Belmont Station Bier Cafe, pours a deep dark amber brown with a medium light brown head. Aroma brings out woody malt, roasted malt, and some gentle dark fruits. Flavour is rich and malty, with lots of woody roasted malt and red fruits, with a well-hopped backbone. Excellent hoppy robust porter. --- Beer aliased from original tick of Woodsman Porter - Douglas Fir Tips on 04 Jan 2026 at 07:56 - Score: Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 7 | Flavor - 8 | Texture - 8 | Overall - 7.5. Original review text: On tap at Bottleworks, pours black with a medium tan head. Aroma is full of medium roasted malt, spruce tips, and plenty of hops. Flavour is dominated by roasted malt and spruce tips, with plenty of hops to back. Very smooth palate, with lots of deep malt, spruce and hops in good balance. Excellent.

Fir tips adds an interesting element to this porter. I'm usually not super down with gimmicks, but I think this works. Roast and coffee.
