Bottle @ Cafe Albert Tasting. Pours deep brown with a creamy tan head. Aroma of malt, caramel, wood, oak, whisky, dried fruit. Flavor is sweet, malty, caramel, dried fruit, some wood, oak, light vanilla, whisky. Medium body, average carbonation, light sweet finish with some warming alcohol. Smooth. 300722

500mL bottle, pours a deep dark amber-tinged brown with a small beige head. Nose is remarkably smooth, with whiskey barrels, subtle truffles, and light toasted caramel. Flavour is surprisingly smooth and elegant, with subtle whiskey barrels upfront, accentuated by light umami from the truffles, and toasted bready malt. Not all that sweet for the style, which is appreciated. The whiskey barrels combine with the mushroomy character nicely. Very nicely done.
