Dark as the fertile Funen plough land – this is Valravn. Double brown, oatmeal stout – with intensity and muscle. The flavour is expressed as a blend of unfiltered purity and the Nordic whir of oats. Seasoned with organic, tasty chocolate malt with such fullness of body as to result in a strong beer – a beer that demonstrates character in every sip. In Valravn, we use organic chocolate available by the Danish chocolatier, Konnerup.

From tap. Pours hazy dark brown to black with a fully gone head. Aroma is roasted malty and light breadish. Bitter. Toasted malty and light caramelish. Dry, roasted and slight herbal malty. Bitter and dry roasted finish.

Very dark brown, unstable light tan head. Aroma has light milk chocolate and hints of dark syrup. Mouthfeel is surpisingly light, rather watery actually. Flavour has light roast, some chocolate. Pretty disappointing considering the pretentious label and description.

Bottle. Frothy white good mostly deminishing head. Black colour. Moderate malty and light hoppy aroma. Molasse dominating. Light bitter flavor. Cold coffee/chocolate/lactose. Is this a sweet stout? Short light bitter finish. Watery palate.
