Tasting at Phill's, bottle
(some details got lost) Sweet, full bodied, with indeed lots of perfumy adjuncts; between the lack of malt depth, and the dominant adjuncts, it's difficult to detect a Barley Wine, but it's a good Strong Ale.

750ml @ Phill's. Appearance: dark copper with a beige head. Aroma: caramel, coconut, dark fruits, moderately sweet. Taste: along the same lines, quite boozy, finishes with hoppy bitterness. Overall: ok.

Poured from 750mL bottle. Hazy brownish orange with small beige head. Bready caramel malt, light cassia bark, mild coconut. Decent.

750mL bottle, pours a hazy dark reddish amber with a small beige head. Aroma brings out coconut upfront, followed by caramel, bready malt, and a touch of cinnamon. Flavour is loaded with both coconut and cinnamon upfront, followed by bitter resinous hops, caramel malt, and bready malt. Finishes somewhat boozy and bitter, with plenty of coconut. When you add these adjuncts to a barleywine, it sort of loses the barleywine character, but it's still very tasty.

750mL bottle pours with a murky mahogany colored body that supports a lasting light tan head of thin foam. The aroma offers up a blend of sweet smelling prunes and malt drenched nuttiness followed by a bit of boozy heat. The taste follows suit with a pleasing sweet dark fruity ester sensation of prunes and dates. It then picks up notes of sweet malts, a hit of molasses and then a vague yet sweetened nutty character. Toward the finish the booze takes over for a bit of edge and providing a nice counter to the sweetness that's going on here. This is bright in spots and tries to become too sweet but doesn't. This is a nice sipper.
