Ruländer [an Austrian synonym for Pinot gris, the ancient, aromatic, pale grape varietal] is a special 100% amphora- and oak-fermented mixed culture saison co-fermented with whole clusters farmed, picked, and delivered by our friend the pioneering local brewer & grape grower Michael Wright. Lush, grape-given notes of pear and citrus harmonize with a mellow, textured minerality and crisp finish conjured from gentle fermentation in clay, barrel, and bottle.

On tap at Wolves & People, pours a hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out musty grape skins, oak, and funky brett. Flavour is tart and vinous, with lots of Pinot Gris grape skins, bugginess, light funk, and some acidity. Real nice incorporation of the grapes, but the base beer doesn't seem the most complex. Good stuff overall.
