Alesong's half of a two-part bourbon-barrel-aged collaboration with our friends at pFriem was inspired by one of our favorite heritage cocktails: the Manhattan. Our version boasts notes of spicy rye, barrel-induced vanilla, and sweet Oregon cherries, all coming together to bring you a beer that pairs perfectly with leather-bound books and mahogany-paneled walls.

On tap at Alesong, pours a clear deep dark amber with a small white head. Aroma brings out caramel, bourbon barrels, and a hint of tart cherries. Flavour is fairly rich, with a nice blend of bourbon barrels, caramel and subtle, gently tart cherries. Nice incorporation of the cherries with the strong bourbon and sweet malt character without being too sweet. This is great.
Light but as described + nice bourbon forward, definitely manhattan feeling. Base is a golden stout and it definitely doesn't show, in a good way, more strong ale, light wheat wine feeling which is great.
