Sampled at BXL festival. Very dark brown with brown head. Thick roast, chocolate, some thick rough whisky notes, ash, soft seaweed, coffee. Over medium sweet and bitter, light umami. Almost full bodied with slick oily feel.

7 3 8 3 15Draft at BXL Beerfest ‘18, Brussels. Black with no head. Aroma of whiskey, oak, milk chocolate, toffee, caramel and fudge. Flavour is heavy sweet. Full bodied with soft carbonation.

Thanks to the RB crew for sharing! Sampled draft @ BXLBeerFest 2018! Black syrup, head doesn’t last. Nose is faint umami, coffee, mocha, thick bit too boozy low umami, soy sauce,… Coffee plastic harsh umami, boozy, coffee, chocolate, too basic umami, whisky is all alcohol, too crude, pure syrup, chocolate, plastic, umami,… Too harsh roast, basic,…. Not bad but def. expected more.

Clear dark brown to black beer, no head. Aroma: lots of roast, burnt caramel, bit sweet impression, some vanilla notes. MF: soft carbon, medium to full body. Taste: slightly sourish start, pretty roasted, caramel, lots of chocolate, little alcoholic, more chocolate, nice. Aftertaste: soft bitterness, sweet malts, bit acidic, nice roast.

On tap @Ma che siete venuti a fà (Rome). Nera, densa, impenetrabile, schiuma media color cappuccino, non molto persistente. Al naso note di caffè, liquirizia, carne affumicata, cioccolata, alcol. In bocca è bella amara sul finale, caffettosa e liquiriziosa, alcol presente ma non fastidioso. Corpo elevato, carbonazione medio-leggera. Molto buona!

28/7/2018. Bottle at Højbjerg tasting. Pours jet black with a small beige head. Aroma of chocolate, dark fruit, malt, rich fruit cake, whiskey cask, toffee and light coffee. Medium plus sweetness with moderate bitterness. Full bodied, slick texture, average to soft carbonation. Good beer.
