Aged 18 months in Heaven Hill Rye Whiskey Casks from Copperworks Distilling. Brewed with Pilsner and Rye malts and a handful of Kentucky bluegrass straw in the mash with notes of orange zest, vanilla, and toasted oak with spice from the rye.

On tap at Threefold. Pours murky dull gold with a white head. Tons of that rye/bourbon character on the nose along with some fermented fruits and spicy saison yeast. Flavour has a fairly rich spicy yeast profile, lots of rye, orange zest, gentle acidity. Full-bodied. Initial reservations about how well the rye works here have faded as the beer comes to temperature. Nicely done.

Poured from the tap @ Darbys. Hazed orange gold with small white head. Very nice blend of bourbon and saison yeast. Nice balance of funk and sweet bourbon.

On tap at Fair Isle, pours a clear bronze/bright golden orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out plenty of whiskey barrels upfront that combine surprisingly well with the rustic saison yeast character. Flavour is bright on the rustic saison yeast character, with plenty of bugs, and accentuated by a nice whiskey barrel character. Carbonation is bright, which is fitting, revealing a bright rustic yeast character. Lovely stuff.

Hazy beige, thin head, light tartness, rye barrel slides into the finish. It’s subtle though, they pulled the beer at the right time. Probably monitored it very closely. Nicely done, slight acidity and a touch of residual sweetness for balance.
