Can from The Republic Bottle Shop, Marysville, WA; canned 2 Jan 2023
Dark brown colour, no head. Mild malt and caramel aroma. More boozy than sweet, with nutty character (which in my book is not too desirable for the style), caramel, a bit of toffee, but just moderate malt depth; more booze in the end.
I can see why they called it 'English', but it doesn't hold a candle to the classics.

16oz @ Ryan's shared with Farees and Alex. Appearance: copper with a beige head. Aroma: sweet, caramel, some dark fruits. Taste: along the same lines with some light strange harsh bitterness. Overall: ok.

Poured from 473mL can (canned 2 Jan 2023). Hazy orangey brown with small beige head. Woody dark fruits, caramel and toffee, slightly boozy. Okay.

On tap at Ladd & Lass, pours a hazy dark amber with a small beige head. Aroma brings out lots of bready malt and toasted caramel — pretty restrained given the gravity. Flavour is somewhat boozy, with toasted caramel, bready malt, and booze. It's a bit messy, but it's pleasant.
