12 oz can poured, picked up at Special Brews. Second can of this in as many years. Just an incredible imperial stout, and I really do think that Single Hill makes them as good as anyone in the state. Near black pour. Moderate tan head. Cocoa and nutty aroma with some oak, and a soft whiskey. Flavor is very well balanced, and incredibly smooth. Layered with whiskey, hazelnut, caramel, oak, chocolate. The latter being the most subtle but everything seems to be well rounded. Don't even need to love hazelnut to find this beer fascinating. Love this.

12 oz. can, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out rich roasted hazelnuts upfront, accentuated by light cocoa and vanilla, and rounded out by the bourbon barrels. Flavour reveals a wonderful roasted hazelnut character upfront, accentuated by subtle dark sugars, cocoa nibs, vanillins, and big bourbon barrels. Not too brutal and definitely showcasing the hazelnuts beautifully. Lovely.
