Amber caramel colour, white head. Aroma of straw, smoke and malts. Malty flavour, straw, smoke, caramel and twigs. Finish smoke and malts.

Cask (handpump) @ GBBF 2014, Great British Beer Festival, London Olympia, Hammersmith Road, London, England W14 8UX. [ As Brains The Big Smoke ].Clear medium to dark amber color with a small to average, frothy - fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, smoke. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average duration, sweet malt, meat, sweet smoke. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20140813]

From cask. Pours clear and golden orange with a small off white head. Aroma is slight herbal, toasted malty. Bitter, mild smoked and mild wooden. Bitter, toasted and caramelish. Light smoked far finish.

Cask @ GBBF 2014. Pours a pale amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty weak smoky aroma. Fruity malty smoky flavor with hints of caramel. Has a fruity malty caramel smoky finish.

Clear dark golden with a small beige head, some lacing. Aroma is caramel and mild smokiness. Flavors of caramel and fruity, smoky in the finish

Sampled @ GBBF. Clear orange golden color, small white head. Smell and taste malts, pretty smoky but still quite balanced so it doesn’t taste offensive, lightly bitter. A pretty good smoke beer imo.

Cask - Lightly smoked malts, more on the Bacony side, but you can smell the grains quite well. Clear orange gold with no head. Lightly smoked grains and malted hops. Very different as the smoke adds to the complexity rather than dominates and overwhelms.

Cask at the 2014 GBBF. Red amber coloured pour with a halo of off white hair as. Aroma is berries, nuts and leather. Hint of rauch malt. Flavour is caramel malts, nuts and some German beach wood smoked malts, lingering dried fruits. Decent stuff. Palate is med sweet.
