21/9/2024. Bottle from Beautiful Beers, Bury St Edmunds. Pours a little unclear with a small frothy off-white head. Aroma is prunes, dried fruits, berries, malts, toffee, molasses, bread, nut. Medium sweetness, moderate bitterness. Medium body, smooth, average carbonation. Good.

Bottle from the monastery, 0.33l. Aroma is floral, dried fruity, caramelly, yeasty and dusty. Pours murky dark brown color with thick soapy light brown head, yeast residue and sparkling appearance. Taste starts sweet toasted malty and dried fruity, following is slightly roasted, nutty, yeasty and grassy, mouthfeel is smooth and mild spicy, while finish is average bitter. 33cl bottle (as my beer #9100 @ Ratebeer) from Abbaye Sainte-Madeleine du Barroux, France. Head is big, tanned, almost good retention. Colour is dark brown, hazy , opaque. Aroma is dark malts, caramel, brown sugar, spicy, mollases, dried fruits, roasted tones. Taste is full malty base, roasted tones, dried fruits, caramel, chocolate, coffee touch, herbal spicy, dry on the palate, higher carbonation, quite good, enjoyed for sure.

Das beste belgische 🇧🇪 Bier an diesem Abend kam aus Italien 🇮🇹, wobei es über einen französischen 🇨🇵 Klostershop bestellt wurde. Es ist ein intensives Belgian Strong Ale, das all die tollen Aromen nach Trockenfrüchten 🍑🍓🫐🍇liefert und diese in ein schweres Malzbad steckt und ordentlich Alkohol serviert. Dabei wird es aber nicht überladen, sondern bleibt freundlich und schön sanft zu trinken. Sicher kein einfaches Bier aufgrund der Komplexität, aber so harmonisch gestaltet ist, dass es einfach schmeckt. Wirklich sehr schön und empfehlenswert.

Közepes, azonnal elolvadó hab, vörösesbarna szín. Kissé alkoholos, karamelles, gabonás illat. Gabonás, karamelles, aszalt gyümölcsös ízek. Testes, alig szénsavas, enyhén keserű. Tipikus barley wine, finom, de átlagos.

BB 05.02.2018. dark brown colour, small tan head. smells of caramel, spices, candy, flowery, peppery. on smell. full body, soft carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes of marzipan, almonds, spices, light sweetness, honey, light dried fruits. finishes lightly sweet with notes of marzipan and some fruity notes. overall quite good one, nice nutty and dark fruity notes. nice
