On tap at Ballast Point - Miramar, pours a deep dark brown / near-black with a small tan head. Aroma has plenty of vanilla, bourbon barrels, and maybe a hint of the mint, but I have to strain for it. Flavour is dominated by the vanilla and bourbon barrels, with a fairly soft malt mouthfeel. I don't detect the mint at all. Not the most intense or thick base but the beer is very nice. Good barrels and vanillin character. Very good.

2oz. Appearance: murky brown with a beige head. Aroma: American oak and chocolate, some sweetness, and a bit of apples. Taste: along the same lines, there is a barrel complexity definitely, but it's maybe not that nicely balanced and a bit harsh. Overall: pretty good.
