On tap at Taproom 27, pours a deep dark brown / black with a large tan head. Aroma brings out a robust mix of roasted malt and piney hops. Flavour is wonderfully balanced, with robust roasted malt and proportional hoppy punch of piney hops. Excellent balanced between roasted malt and hops. A legit black IPA. Really good.

JUL-2018. Draft at Taproom 27. Opaque not quite black, creamy beige head. Strong rainy smell pine and eucalipt, rosemary, some chocolate. The taste has smooth chocolate and big dry herbal bitterness. 7-4-7-4-14=3,6/5.

APR-2018. PET growler at home. ~6% abv, Chinook dry hopped. Opaque black, beige head. Pretty strong green hop/peppery aroma, faint dark sugar, as well as hints of toffee and cooking chocolate. Similar taste - moderate dark sugars, oily thick mouthfeel and robust peppery bitterness, leaving just a tad of residual sweetness on the palate. This sharp peppery hop might seem to harsh, but the overall balance is ok. Very thick oily mouthfeel. Not as good as their best batches, but pretty solid nevertheless. 7-4-7-4-14=3,6/5.

FEB-2018. Tap at Smokehouse. Wow, very harsh workwood like bitterness. One of the worst batches yet. ~3,0/5-ish ot thereabouts...

21-JUL-2016. Batch #2. Much stronger hop aroma, flavour balanced more towards hops, and, last but not the least, it is much cleaner - no more yeast or ashes. 7-4-7-4-7-14 = 3,6/5.

25-MAY-2016. PET from tap. Batch #1. Opaque back, nice beige head, Smells like a hoppy stout - roasty, grassy and peppery. Light burnt sugar sweetness. Taste: the hops are not dominating, but still pretty aggressive - green/grassy and resiny - balanced by lightly sweet chocolate. The finish has a strong grassy bitterness, blended with coffee roast. The burnt paper off-flavour of Elvis is still there, but not as noticeable for beer of this style. Overall a nice beer, but those ashes... 6-4-7-4-13=3,4/5.
