Reviewed from notes.
Can to becher glass.
Appearance: dark brown close to black in color with a finger's worth of eggshell white foamy head which dissolved nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: light smoke notes, cocoa powder, bacon, bready tones and some dark chocolate
Flavor: meshes the previously noted aromas to a sweet smoky quality; finishes smoky to bready and a touch of chocolate tones
Texture: medium bodied, leaning towards being a sipper; good smoothness - nothing distracting; good carb level
Overall: nice enough smoked beer done in some American ingenuity.

On tap at Burlington Beer Co, pours black with a large brown head. Aroma brings out dry smoked malt upfront, with a light dry cocoa powder character. Flavour is along the same lines, with a very nice smoke character upfront and a medium toasted malt base. Really nice smoking job here. Balanced and fairly complex. Really good stuff.
