The term “Stout” describes something enduring, solid, and substantial. That is the essence of our chocolatey stout ale. We liken it to the history of our Nova Scotia Foundries, where iron was melted and casted to produce windlasses, stoves and tackle for the local shipbuilding and fisheries industries. Skilled Foundry craftsmen created moulds to produce the hardware on some of the great grand banks schooners. Old Foundry Stout is our salute to the enduring heritage and contribution of the Maritime’s steelworking industry.

On tap at Battery Park Beer Bar. Pours black with a light beige head. Tons of dark roast, toasted nuts, some black liquorice on the nose. Flavour has a roasty, nutty profile with some notes of liquorice and dark chocolate. Very solid stout, nicely done.
