The Cracker Cowboys of Florida were colonial-era settlers, often of Scots-Irish descent, who arrived in Florida when Spain traded their territory of La Florida to the English. The term Cracker in Florida usage relates to the whip these “cow hunters” used to herd cattle in Florida’s Palmetto Prairies. Called Quaqueros by the Spanish, these hardy and hard working Cracker Cowboys helped to shape the history of Florida, the nation’s oldest cattle raising state. We brew Florida Cracker White Ale with unmalted wheat, orange peel and coriander and then ferment it with a Belgianyeast strain to give it a spicy and dry finish. Perfect for a warm day on the Palmetto Prairie.

On tap @Treefolk's Pub (Rome). Dorata, mediamente torbida, schiuma bianca media, discretamente persistente. In bocca è dolce, sbilanciata, stucchevole. Corpo medio-leggero, carbonazione media.

355ml can from Bernie's (Shirley, Brum): According to 'James Clay' the BBD is 8th Aug 2021. I am about to open it mid-morning on 17th Apr 2021. Poured slowly into a US Pint glass from the Good People brewing Company (also from Brum, but this time Alabama). Light haze to the pale yellow/golden body, full white crown on top, carbonation bubbles rising up through the glass. The beer has been well chilled, so the aroma is currently a bit subdued, some wheat like esters are trying to break out, as are some spicy notes with an orange trace or two; should pick up as it warms in the glass. Taste is also wheaty, spicy and orangey. Nice crisp body feel to this. Can't pretend I am a big lover of this style, but this is one of the better ones I have tried so far.

Can 355ml (KCM Puuvilla)
Hazy yellow colour, small white head. Citrus, rubber bands, cardboard in the nose. Light-bodied. Wheaty, peppery with citrus, coriander and some sweet tropical fruits. Nose is quite bad, flavour ok.

Canned October 3rd.
Pours a mostly clear pale gold with a 2 finger head of foam that is very slow to shrink.
The nose is big coriander and orange peel. Spicy fruity.
The taste is of coriander, orange peel, cloves, tastes the part of the style as much as it smells it.
Light side of medium bodied.
I reckon that it's a well crafted American example of the style.
