The Cracker Cowboys of Florida were colonial-era settlers, often of Scots-Irish descent, who arrived in Florida when Spain traded their territory of La Florida to the English. The term Cracker in Florida usage relates to the whip these “cow hunters” used to herd cattle in Florida’s Palmetto Prairies. Called Quaqueros by the Spanish, these hardy and hard working Cracker Cowboys helped to shape the history of Florida, the nation’s oldest cattle raising state. We brew Florida Cracker White Ale with unmalted wheat, orange peel and coriander and then ferment it with a Belgianyeast strain to give it a spicy and dry finish. Perfect for a warm day on the Palmetto Prairie.

Draft at Beer Temple, Amsterdam. Cloudy dull golden blond with a white head. Aroma is massive herbal, yeast, malt and light fruits. Flavour is light moderate sweet and bitter. Light to medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Fruity, (yeasty) spicy, wheaty aroma, hints of banana, a touch of coriander and orange zest, some white pepper. Taste is yeasty spicy, wheaty and fruity, notes of coriander, orange zest, a touch of clove, white pepper, banana; minimally dry, spicy finish. Minimally overspiced (coriander).

Can. Cloudy honey yellow. Nice white well-lacing head. Aroma: very fruity & yeasty. Crisp & fresh. Light to medium body. Spicy taste dominated by coriander (somewhat out of balance). Fruit & yeast in the background. Light bitterness. Well-made. Yet not my kind of Witbier.
