New Zealand WCIPA with Nelson Sauvin hops

Translation: This is an NZ IPA using Nelson Sauvin hops from three New Zealand hop producers. Like grapes used in wine, the quality and character of hops vary greatly depending on the region of origin, the climate of the year, the harvesting method and time, and post-harvest processing. In recent years, hops from a New Zealand company called Freestyle Hops have been attracting attention from breweries worldwide, and this beer's dry hopping primarily uses Freestyle Hops' Nelson Sauvin. Hop Revolutions' Riwaka and Nelson Sauvin are also used in the dry hopping, while the Nelson Sauvin used in the boiling and whirlpooling is exclusively from NZ HOPS. The taste is dry with a firm bitterness, but the hop flavors are layered, making it refreshing, drinkable, and satisfying. It starts with sweet tropical fruit aromas of peach and papaya, followed by the floral flavors of Centennial and the fruity berry notes of Mosaic.

On tap. Pours a clear orange hue with a small white head. A big citrus fruit nose. Sweet, so clean, huge melon, lemon. Low bitterness. Awesome.

On tap at Inkhorn, pours a hazy golden with a small white head. Nose absolutely exudes that tangy white wine Nelson character — damn that's nice — with some light pine and citrus to back. Flavour explodes with tangy white wine Nelson hops, some pine, a little citrus, and just enough thin malt to back. Beautifully constructed WCIPA with the Nelson stealing the show. Lovely.
