50 cl bottle. Pours clear and golden orange with a small off white head. Aroma is toasted malty and light spiced. Breadish, caramelish and toasted malty. Sweet and caramelish into a toasted finish.

Bottle. Pours clear dark reddish brown with large offwhite head. Aroma is sweet malt, malt syrup, ripe sweet fruit, ground coffee and cinnamon cookies. Taste is light sweet, light to medium acidic and light to medium bitter. Body is light oily with good carbonation. Finish is medium long and mostly acidic bitter with notes of nuts, brown sugar, malt and cinnamon cookies.

500ml bottle picked up at a Rema 1000 store in Copenhagen. Clear red-brown coloured body topped by an average fawn-coloured head. Spotty lacing. Spiced malty smell, mid sweet. Taste of almond, caramel and star anise. Rather sweet to the ending. Soft in the mouth. Medium bodied. Accepted (hotel room 26.11.2014).

Bottle @ Home. Pours amber with a light tan head. Aroma of malt, caramel, wood, little cinnamon. Flavor is light sweet, malty, caramel, spice, cinnamon, wood, light licorice notes. Medium body, average carbonation. 171114

Clear copper, frothy offwhite head. Mild caramel and malt aroma. Big, creamy mouthfeel, more caramel in flavour. Short finish, almost a little watery. Not bad, but a pretty simple doppelbock.

Bottle 50 cl. Pours a pretty, clear amber with a yellowish to beige head. Subtle spice in the nose on a bed of slight caramel. Surprisingly light-bodied, not really sweet, not really spicy (thanks!) but with a fairly decent late hoppiness. Decent and certainly not cloying. The star anise comes rather late but never dominates. 071014
