21/XI/17 - on tap @ Horeca Expo (Ghent) - BB: n/a (2017-1904) Thanks to the brewers for today's samples and my Ghent beer posse for sharing the glasses and keeping my liver sane. :p

Clear amber beer, creamy smooth off-white head, pretty stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: lovely funky, very soft gentle brett notes, little fruity. MF: no carbon, medium body. Taste: very acidic, pretty bitter, some tannins, astringent, very dry. Aftertaste: dry, soft acidity, fruity touch. Lovely faro! Best faro ever. Well, that's what you get if you let all the candi sugary ferment out, I suppose. :-) Maybe not the authentic recipe, don't care, great beer!

Draft glass @ Beerlovers Bar. Dark red amber, little head. Nose is surprisingly heavy on lambiek, lots of funk, more so than used to from Oud Beersel, sugar is low. Taste is low spoiled lemon, massive lambiek funk, horse blanket, sugar is low in the back, thicker bodied than expected. Oude Faro seems about right, thick, glorious funk, sugar is low complimentary, quite a surprise really good. Loved it.

Draught at Delirium. It pours hazy deep brown with a small, bubbly beige head. The aroma is quite sweet, oily, sticky, caramel, oily, treacle, cocoa, brown bread and funk. The taste is dry, bitter, earthy, tangy, musty, mouldy, granny smith apple, lemon sherbet, apple tango, caramel and some citric acidity on the finish. Medium body and fine, prickly carbonation. Sweetness is more in the aroma than taste. Rather enjoyable overall. Faro light almost.

Tap at beerlovers bar. Pours unclear, dark copper. No head. Smell is lambicfunk, green apples, wood. Taste is mildly to medium high acidic. Not as sweet as expected' even more apple aspect than the refular oud beersel geuze. Pretty dry as well. Decent body, no carbo. Pretty good !
