Bottle (from Ales by Mail). Murky ambery brown colour with a big foamy off-white head, which leaves some lace. Aroma is grains, some bread, mild toffee and some nutty tones. Flavour is floral, some nutty, mild bready, toffeeish and some mild wooden tones. Not very IPAish (even for a British style IPA it's very malty). Still enjoyable as a beer though.

Tap(RBESG2014): Deep golden, stable and creamy off-white head; moderate dry hoppy and yeasty (turpentine = necrotic yeast) nose; moderate dry bitter flavour, quite light bodied; lingering dry fruity-hoppy finish. Well crafted, well balanced…

Bottled 330ml (ABM)
Dark murky brown color, huge active off-white head, lace. Bready, ryeish and even a bit nutty aroma - not what to expect from American IPA. Medium-bodied. Ryeish with some piney bitterness, hints of toffee. Heavy or not very fresh. At least decent hop bite in the aftertaste. More like ESB than IPA. Active carbonation indicates some problems in the process, so possible better when fresh.

Bottle at home, 6th September 14. Quite liked this. Unusual take in an IPA, some more musky smoke, good mix and some bitterness. not bad

330ml bottle. Hazy, dark amber colour with absurdely huge, frothy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, off-white to beige head. Fruity hoppy aroma has notes of gooseberry, red and blue berries, herbal notes of corresponding shrubs. Taste is minimally nuttily malty, husky, notes of (unripe) berries can’t counter adequately, minimal tartness, more herbal dry- than hop bitterness of the berries’ parings. Very British.

330ml Bottle - Hazy copper with a small head. Toffee, dried apricot and resinous hops in the aroma. Fruity and bitter taste with raisins, resinous hops and fruitcake. Nice but could do with a bit more balance. Enjoyable, though
