Keg at the Plasterers Arms, Norwich, 20/11/16. Pitch black crowned with a dirty tan cap. Nose is liquorice, spice, charr, cocoa sprinkle, earthy hop dusting. Taste comprises chocolate biscuit, light spice, hop pangs, liquorice, roast malt. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, drying close. Decent hoppy stout.

On cask at the Stockbridge Tap. Appearance - opaque black with an off white head. Nose - smoky and liquorice. Taste - more smoke and liquorice. Charcoal in fact. Spicy and burnt molasses. Palate - mediumbodied with a crunchy texture and a long dry crunchy finish. Overall - challenging but worth the struggle. Would say this was a dry stout.
