Pitch black color with brown head. Heavy aroma of roasted malt, dark bread, coffee. The body is strong and the mouthfeel smooth; the flavor is a good combination of roasted malt and coffee, maybe missing some more chocolate; it has hints of leather and some more liquorice; correct bitterness.
Would be a huge hit for a homebrewer, although I usually prefer more chocolatey beers.

Big brown creamy longlasting head. Aroma is dark malts, dark sugar, salty caramel, coffee, chocolate, licorice, unripe banana. Taste is kind of neutral, dark malts, grass, harsh sour coffee, roasted grain, hints of licorice. Medium bitterness, thin mouthfeel, very soft carbonation. Boring!

Bottle. black beer with a strong dark brown head. The aroma is well roasted, and the flavour is deeply roasted and bitter with more than a touch of espresso about it. Overall a good imperial stout.

Bottle at BrewDog Stockholm. Black with a large tan head. Aroma of dark chocolate, licorice, wood and some light smoke. Similar taste. Also notes of "milk" and some toffee and grass. The body was full with a medium carbonation.

Bottle in the CBC2013 line courtesy of rlgk. Pours pitch black with a huge frothy and creamy mocha head that slowly dissipates while leaving some thick and sticky lacing and trace on the glass. Smell is sweet and malty with roasted malts, sweet dark bread, dark roast coffee, bitter chocolate, charred wood, smoke and peat. Taste is sweet, bitter, malty and tiny metallic with roasted malts, dark roast coffee, bitter chocolate, charred wood, burnt caramel, sweet dark bread and hints of smoke and peat. Mouthfeel is round, creamy, tiny roasted astringent and medium to full bodied. Finish is bitter and very tiny sour with roasted malts, dark roast coffee, very dark high cocoa chocolate, charred wood, peat and hints of leather, dried dark fruits and soil. Pretty good...

Bottle. Opaque black liquid with firm, medium tan head. Great head retention. Aroma of coffee, licorice, light ash, toast, biscuit and light smoke. Taste is light sweet and medium bitter with notes of coffee, licorice, bitter chocolate and toast. Full bodied with low to medium carbonation. Really nice and dry imperial stout.
